  3. But where, in the 1950s section, is The Dud Avocado? Written in 1959 by Elaine Dundy (wife of Kenneth Tynan, the notorious spanker) it has never been out of print. Think a 1950s proto Sex in the City. Though in Paris. And about a single woman. It is a classic! (psssst. i hadnt heard of it either till last year. but that doesnt mean that it isnt a classic.)
